    The Inspection


    Your Home Inspection Will Include:

    As an InterNACHI member I must adhere to InterNACHI’s Standards of Practice at all times while conducting my inspection. This means I will attempt to inspect all of the following items listed below (when accessible) per InterNACHI standards:  

    • Exterior Grading and drainage
    • Roof, vents, flashing,eaves, fascia and trim
    • Gutters and downspouts
    • Skylight, chimney and other roof penetrations that may exisit
    • Decks, stoops, porches, walkways, coverings and railings
    • Vegetation near the structure
    • Foundation and crawlspace
    • Water penetration and foundation movement
    • Heating and cooling systems
    • Main water shut off valves
    • Water heating system
    • Interior plumbing fixtures and faucets
    • Main electrical service, meter and disconnect
    • Electrical panels, breakers and fuses
    • GFCIs and AFCIs
    • Fireplace
    • Insulation and ventilation
    • Garage doors, including openers and safety sensors
    • And much more…

    A general home inspection is a non-invasive, visual examination of the accessible areas of a residential property (as delineated below), performed for a fee, which is designed to identify defects within specific systems and components defined by these Standards that are both observed and deemed material by the inspector.  The scope of work may be modified by the Client and Inspector prior to the inspection process.  

    Inspectors are never required to walk on any roof surface.
